The ruling Awami League has submitted the audited financial statement of 2014 to the Election Commission (EC) reporting income of about Tk9.5 crore against the expenditure of Tk3.44 crore.
The party’s Office Secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap placed the report to EC Secretary Sirazul Islam at the EC Secretariat yesterday. Golap told the newsmen that his party gained an earning of around Tk9.5 crore in 2014 and it spent around Tk3.44 crore as they could carry out party activities because of BNP-Jamaat hartals, blockades and petrol bomb attacks.
On August 14, BNP submitted its financial statement for 2014 to the EC showing higher expenditure than its income. BNP’s financial statement showed a total income of Tk76,05,762 and expenditure of Tk2,27,25,326.
