Valiant freedom fighter and Swadhin Bangla Beter Kendra artiste Mrinal Kanti Dutta has passed away at a hospital in Kishoreganj. He was 77.
He breathed his last at Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital on Friday night.
He was undergoing treatment there for Covid-19.
Mrinal Kanti Dutta left behind two sons, two daughters and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
President Md Abdul Hamid, who was a classmate of the 1971 war veteran, expressed profound shock and sorrow at his death.
In a condolence message, the president said people would remember Mrinal’s contribution to the local cultural arena of Kishoreganj for long with respect.
He also prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid also expressed deep shock at the death of Mrinal Kanti and prayed for peace of his departed soul.
