Nearly 70-80% of the hospitals already have an extinguishing system, the minister said
The government has taken an initiative to install fire extinguishing system at every hospital across the country, Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said.
"Nearly 70-80% of the hospitals already have a fire extinguishing system. Now we have taken the initiative to install such systems in every hospital," he told the parliament while replying to a question, posed by Workers' Party MP Lutfun Nesa Khan.
Meanwhile, State Minister for Religious Affair Sheikh Md Abdullah said owners of some Hajj and Umrah agencies have been directly or indirectly harassing and deceiving pilgrims every year.
The government takes actions against the agencies according to the Hajj and Umrah policy, he said replying to a tabled question from Awami League MP Nur Mohammad.
These actions include cancellation of license, confiscation of deposited money of agencies, suspension of licenses and financial penalty.
Abdullah said the government has moved to enact Hajj and Umrah law with tougher provisions for punishment to save Hajis from harassment.
