State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossen has told the parliament that the government is considering introducing a single shift at primary schools across Bangladesh by increasing classrooms.

“Class is now being taken at the primary schools in two shifts due to shortage of classrooms in the schools. We are now trying to introduce one-shift system at primary schools by increasing classrooms at the schools,” he said.

Zakir was replying to a supplementary question from treasury bench lawmaker Enamul Haque from Rajshahi 4 constituency at the parliament, reports BSS.

Responding to a starred question from another treasury bench lawmaker Gloria Jharna Sarker, the state minister said the qualified assistant teachers are being promoted to headmaster-in-charge at their respective schools across Bangladesh as per the Teacher Recruitment Policy 2013.
