The session is underway after a 58-day recess
The 22nd session of the 10th parliament started at 5pm on Sunday, with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair, after a 58-day recess.
Earlier at 4pm, the Business Advisory Committee of Parliament sat in a meeting with the speaker in the chair to fix the duration and businesses of the session, reports UNB.
On August 19, President Md Abdul Hamid had convened the session exercising his power bestowed upon him by Article 72 (1) of the constitution.
Earlier, the 21st session of the current parliament, which was also the budget session, was prorogued on July 12.
The 10th parliament went into its maiden session on January 29, 2014.
The 11th parliamentary election is expected to be held in the last week of December.
