Total 204 arrests made; six confess their guilt till date
Police have arrested three more people in Noakhali's Chowmuhani in relation to the recent communal attacks.
Meanwhile, a Noakhali court granted remand for eight accused on Wednesday.
On the other hand, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been given the charge of the three cases filed in connection with the attacks on Hindu temples in Chowmuhani.
Two of the arretees -- Md Abdur Rahim, 70, and Md Khorshed Alam Russell, 27 -- were identified from CCTV footage, while another accused Sahabuddin, 45, was arrested from Hatia in the early hours of Tuesday.
Superintendent of Police Md Shahidul Alam said that the CID would investigate the cases involving two murders, and vandalism in three Hindu temples in College Road area and two temples on Bank Road.

Two of the cases were filed by the police and another by ISKCON.
The attacks were carried out on October 15, after rumours of a copy of the Holy Quran found at a Puja Mandap in Comilla spread on social media.
A man named Jatan Kumar Saha, 42, died after he was injured in a sudden attack by the local Muslims who brought out a procession. They attacked several temples, carried out vandalism, and set fire to various establishments of the temples at the time. They also vandalised some shops and business facilities in the market.
The next day, the body of 20-year-old Pranto Das was recovered from a pond next to the ISKCON temple in Chowmuhani. He jumped into the pond to save his life from the attackers.
SP Shahidul said that a total of 204 people had been arrested in the cases. Of them, 91 were mentioned in the cases as accused.
"Six accused have pleaded guilty and given confessional statements under Section 164 in court," he added.
