The deceased and the accused worked together in Ashulia Classic Paribahan
An 11-year-old child was killed in Ashulia's Baipail area in Savar on Sunday morning for witnessing a theft.
The body was identified as Ferdous, 11, at the Gonoshasthaya Samaj Vittik Medical College and Hospital, in Savar’s Baipail, confirmed Samiul Islam, sub-inspector of Ashulia police station.
Police detained one of the accused, Hridoy, 15, while the prime accused, Parvez, 21, is still on the run.
Ferdous' father Rahiz Uddin is a bus driver of Ashulia Classic Paribahan hailing from Munsipara village in Sherpur district. Ferdous and the two accused worked together in the company.
According to police, Ferdous and the accused fell asleep on the bus on Sunday night.
Later, he awoke to find Hridoy stealing Tk500 missing from Parvez’s pocket. Hridoy then informed Parvez that Ferdous had stolen the money. The duo then beat him mercilessly and left him injured.
Ferdous was declared dead by duty doctors when taken to the Gonoshasthaya Samaj Vittik Medical College and Hospital.
Rahiz Uddin later filed a murder case against the duo.
