The driver lost control and the car plunged into the Turag River
A man has died after his car went off the road and plunged into the Turag River.
According to police sources, the incident occurred in the Dhaur Bridge area of Ashulia, Savar around 11pm on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Bhola Das, 36, a gold trader.
Confirming the matter, Abdullahil Kafi, additional superintendent of Savar police, said that the driver lost control of the vehicle.
Three people, including Das, were traveling from Uttara to Savar's Tayebpur when the accident happened. Das was trapped inside the car while the others managed to save themselves.
After half-hour, police and fire service personnel were able to recover Das's body from the river.
