Another 100 people also given severe punishment
Recently 25 members of the Brahmanbaria district police were fired over their involvement in various criminal activities and violation of departmental rules.
The policemen who have been terminated include constables, assistant sub-inspectors and sub-inspectors. Additionally, 100 other people were given severe punishment.
Brahmanbaria Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Anisur Rahman revealed the information at a press conference at his office on Monday while speaking about the digitization of various services of Brahmanbaria District Police.
Responding to a question from reporters, SP Anisur Rahman said action would be taken after proper investigation if specific allegations were found against the police personnel.
There was no place for criminals in the police department, he said.
Referring to the digital services of the police, the SP said that an app called “Lost and Found” had been launched, through which anyone with an NID could file a general diary (GD) from any part of the country.
In addition, thrice daily attendance and duty of all police members of the district were being ensured through the Crime Data Management System or CDMS.
He added that where previously cases were filed on paper, now they were being filed through CDMS. The system can help record witness statements, prepare lists of seized evidence, draft map and table of contents of the case while being at the location of the incident.
As such, circle officials can monitor the progress of the case investigation through CDMS.
District Additional Superintendent (ASP) (Administration and Crime) Mollah Mohammad Shaheen, ASP (Sadar Circle) Mozammel Hossain Reza, ASP (Sadar Circle) Abu Saeed, Senior ASP (Sarail Circle) Anisur Rahman, Senior ASP (Kasba Circle) Nahid Hasan and DIO-1 Imtiaz Ahmed were also present at the press briefing.
