The case was filed for a Facebook post on a family planning officer
The Bogra district correspondent of the daily Banijya Pratidin, Aktaruzzaman, has been sent to jail in a case filed under the Digital Security Act (DSA).
Bogra Detective Branch of police (DB) arrested him from his home around 3am on Sunday.
He was sent to jail through a court on Sunday afternoon.

The law enforcers arrested him for posting a status on Facebook about Bogra Sadar Family Planning Officer Dr Samir Hossain Mishu.
Rafiqul Islam, the father of the journalist, said: “At 3am, 12 DB men and Dr Samir Hossain Mishu came to my house and took away my son.
“They did not say what the allegations were. I made many requests but they did not release my son."
Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Selim Reza said that Shamima Akhter, a clerk at the Sadar Upazila Family Planning Office, filed the case against the journalist.
Bogra Union of Journalists President Mirza Selim Reza and General Secretary Ganesh Das have issued a statement strongly condemning the arrest of journalist Akhtaruzzaman.
The organization also demanded his immediate release.
