13 others were injured in the accidents
At least five people killed and 13 others injured in separate road accidents on Sunday in Tangail, Pabna, and Sirajganj.
In Tangail, two people were killed and three others injured in a clash between a truck and an auto rickshaw on Ghatail-Sagardighi road on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Amjad Hossain, 45, from Gopinathpur village in Madhupur upazila, and Monjurul Karim, 32, from Kathalia village in Gopalpur upazila.
Sagardighi police outpost In-Charge Inspector Helal Uddin said Amjad and Monjurul died on the spot while three other injured received treatment at a local hospital.
In Pabna, a man was killed when he was hit by a speeding CNG auto rickshaw on Chatmohar-Tebunia road on Sunday morning. Two others were injured in the incident.
The deceased was identified as Mojibor Rahman, 65, from Mostalipur village under Haripur union in Chatmohar upazila. He was a muezzin of a local mosque.
Mojibur was pronounced dead by the duty doctors when he was taken to the upazila health complex in critical condition.
Upazila Health Officer Dr Omor Faruk said Mojibur died due to excessive bleeding in his head.

Chatmohar police station OC Aminul Islam said the driver of the CNG auto rickshaw fled the scene after the incident. Police are continuing their search to apprehend the accused.
In Sirajganj, two people were killed on the spot and eight others injured as a bus hit a tractor on Bangabandhu Bridge in Sirajganj side early Sunday, reports BSS.
The deceased were identified as Moznu Sheikh, 33, and Nazrul Islam, 35. Both were residents of Nilphamari district.
Bangabandhu Bridge police station Officer in-Charge (OC) Md Mosaddek Hossain said police recovered and sent the bodies to Sirajganj General Hospital, while the injured were admitted to Tangail General Hospital.
