Six firefighting units rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze in a couple of hours
A fire broke out at a knitting factory in the Konabari area of Gazipur city in the early hours of Wednesday.
Tasharraf Hossain, senior inspector of Joydebpur fire station, said the blaze started around 12am at a shed of Jersy Knitting factory and soon engulfed other parts of the manufacturing unit.

On information, six firefighting units – three from Joydebpur, two from Kaliakair and one from Kashimpur -- rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze in a couple of hours. Equipment worth lakhs have been gutted in the fire, officials said.
"A probe has been ordered to ascertain the exact cause of the fire. The exact extent of loss will also be ascertained after the investigation," said Tasharraf.
No casualties were reported in the incident.
