When panic spread in the area, RAB carried out a clandestine investigation and arrested the 12 people, including the leader of D Company.
During a press conference at RAB Media Centre on Sunday, RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Cdr Khandaker Al Moin said the members of D Company admitted to their involvement in various immoral activities, including drug use, bullying, ragging, harassment, robbery, extortion, assault and sharing pornographic videos through social media, during interrogation.
The RAB official further said: “For the last five years, London Bappi has been directing gang members to conduct various criminal activities in Uttara-Tongi. His younger brother Pappu used to help him in these works.”
The D Company has at least 50 members and London Bappi used to pay each one of them Tk300-400 every week.
Bappi used to earn Tk2-3 lakh per month from various kinds of criminal activities. The arrested members have given information about other members of the gang and operations are underway to catch them.
“We have received information that there are cases against Rajiv Chaudhary Bappi alias London Bappi's younger brother Pappu. He is also in jail in connection with a recent case. There are also multiple cases against each of the arrested accused,” the RAB director said.
Who is this Bappi?

Bappi's village home is in Noakhali. He lives at his grandfather's house (London House) in Tongi.
He studied in London for two years and returned to Bangladesh after completing his studies in 2013. He then set up a Facebook messenger group called the Daring Company to dominate the area.
After the death of Bappi's mother in 2007, his father remarried. From then on, Bappi started living in his grandfather's house.
According to RAB, Bappi assigned Moin Ahmed Nirab alias Don Nirab to lead the group members at the field level.
