Police have recovered the bodies of two newborns wrapped in polythene within three hours in Tangail.
The two bodies were recovered from CNB Road in the city on Monday afternoon.
Locals said they saw the body of a newborn wrapped in polythene at around 12pm while passing through the street. Later, one of them called 999 and informed the police.
Upon receiving information, police recovered the body and took it to the police station.
Later another body was found on the same road at 3pm. Police recovered that body as well.
Tangail Sadar police station Officer in-Charge (OC) Mir Mosharraf Hossain confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
The bodies were buried after conducting autopsies at the hospital, he said.
The police official added that he is taking the matter seriously. Police are still investigating who dumped the bodies and why.
