In a written statement sent to reporters the same day, Qasemi said the extreme chaos created by Hefazat-e-Islam across the country over the arrival of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was inhumane, and the loss of life and property in the country cannot be the result of Islamic acts by any means.

Qasemi, also a former teacher of Jamia Yunusiya Madrasa, demanded the government identify and bring to justice those who were involved in the mayhem.
