The explosives were recovered on Friday
Two more mortar shells, a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG), and a landmine recovered from the Rajshahi University (RU) campus have been detonated.
A bomb disposal unit of Bangladesh Army from Bogra Cantonment detonated the explosives at an open place in the martyrs' memorial area on the campus on Saturday afternoon, said Proctor Prof Md Lutfor Rahman.
On Friday, Motihar police recovered the explosives from a pond which was being dug near the martyrs' memorial.
They informed the Army's bomb disposal unit at Bogra Cantonment to detonate the explosives.
Earlier on April 27, a team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) 5 recovered another mortar shell from the same pond. A bomb disposal unit of Bangladesh Army detonated the shell the next day.
The university proctor said there may be more of these mortar shells or RPGs in the pond or in the university area.
"We will send a letter to the department concerned of the Army seeking their help in this regard so that people are not harmed by these weapons."
There was a Pakistani military camp beside the spot where the shells were recovered from. It was therefore assumed that the explosives were from the Liberation War period, the proctor earlier said.
