The accused raped the tenth-grader against her will on the pretext of a false promise of marriage
Police have arrested a madrasa teacher from Kaliganj, Satkhira allegedly for raping a tenth-grader madrasa girl.
Hafez Abdul Majid, 42, was arrested from Paukhali Mahbuba Razzakia Hafizia Madrasa and Orphanage at Kaliganj on Tuesday night.
The father of the madrasa student filed the case against him under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act with Kaliganj police on Tuesday evening
Abdul Majid is the son of Shawkat Gazi of Shrifalkati village under Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira. He was sent to jail through court on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
According to Kaliganj police station Officer-in-Charge Delwar Hussain, the teacher had a romantic relation with the girl, who is a student of Nurnagar Mahila Madrasa in Shyamnagar.
The accused brought her to his madrasa in Kaliganj in the evening of April 17 and raped her in his bedroom against her will.
The next day the teacher refused to marry her while dropping her off at Garer Hat in Kaliganj. The student later went home and informed her parents about the incident.
