Eight others injured
Three people have been killed and eight others were injured in a deadly road accident on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Comilla.
The accident occurred when a truck overturned after being hit by a goods-laden freight trailer from behind and fell on a motorcyclist on Tuesday morning, in Aatgram area of Chauddagram upazila.
The deceased were identified as Md Rasel, 35, driver of the freight trailer, Md Faruk Hosain, 28, truck driver’s assistant, and Peyar Ahammed, 35, motorcycle rider.
Chauddagram Mia Bazar Highway police outpost Sub Inspector (SI) Md Aiyub Ali confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
He said the bodies had been taken to Comilla Medical College Hospital. The injured were also taken to the hospital for treatment.
The injured are Razzak Miah from Chauddagram upazila; Alamgir Hossain from Mirsharai upazila in Chittagong; Razib from Mirsharai upazila; Syed Alam Mamun from Gaibandha; Zaman from Chauddagram upazila; and locals Rajon, Redowan, and Mamun.
