In October last year, another Lalmonirhat police officer’s gun went missing from his home
A police officer in northern district of Lalmonirhat has been suspended after he lost the ammunition magazine for his service gun.
Sub-Inspector Khalequl Badshah of the Sadar police station was withdrawn from duty and attached to the police lines on Monday before he was suspended the next day, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Shah Alam told Dhaka Tribune on Wednesday.
The officer lost his gun magazine loaded with eight round of bullets on Sunday during a skirmish at the district town’s College Bazar neighbourhood.

“SI Khalequl was questioned soon after the incident but he could not come up with a proper explanation,” said OC Alam.
Additional Superintendent of Police Marufa Zaman said an inquiry is likely to be opened on the matter. “We are trying to trace the magazine and the bullets.”
In October last year, another officer’s service gun went missing from his home in the district town’s Balatari area.
Sub-Inspector Ayub Ali was suspended after the incident, but the police is yet to recover the pistol.
