The court fixed February 10 to hold a hearing in this regard
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police has filed a charge sheet against 28 people including former and current Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) president in a BCL activist murder case, six years after the incident.
CID Sylhet zone Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shamim Ur Rashid Pir confirmed the matter on Tuesday.
However, the court is yet to accept the charge sheet and fixed February 10 to hold a hearing in this regard.
The accused are: Sanjiban Chakrabarty Partho, then president of SUST Chhatra League; Abu Saeed Akand, vice-president; Sajidul Islam Sabuj, joint general secretary; Syed Juem, vice-president; Ahmed Miaji, organizing secretary; Mosharaf Hossain Raju, co-secretary; Ruhul Amin, current acting president; Sajal Chandra Bhowmik, BCL activist; Abdul Quddus Noman, activist; Shariful Islam Bulbul, vice president; Hafiz Al Asad, joint general secretary; Noor-e-Alam, vice president; Zahir Hossain, law secretary; SK Hasibur Rahman, vice president; Junaid Ahmed, activist; Habibur Rahman Habib, activist; Zahid Hasan Naeem, organizing secretary; Ariful Islam, joint general secretary; Jesmul Hasan, activist; Zakir Khan, sports secretary; Ashiquzzaman Rupak, science and technology secretary; Nayan Chowdhury, activist; Sukand Ghosh, co-secretary; Toukir Ahmed Talukder, organizing secretary; Sajal Das Anik, Sylhet metropolitan BCL organizing secretary; BCL leaders Anuarul Haque Alam, Rana Ahmed Shiplu, and Emdadul Haque Khokon.
Sumon Chandra Das, a student of Sylhet International University and a BCL activist, was shot dead in a bloody clash over campus supremacy between two BCL groups in SUST campus on November 20, 2014.
Sumon's mother Pratibha Das filed a case in Jalalabad Police Station on November 22, 2014.
