The body was found with hands tied up and mouth gagged
Police have recovered the body of a retired Bangladesh Army official from beside a bridge in Birulia, Savar.
Fazlul Haque’s body was recovered from the Kamalapur area of Birulia around midday on Sunday.
Fazlul, 50, was the son of late Amin Uddin Mollah from Rahatpur village in Manikganj. He had been working as a bodyguard for the owner of Popular Insurance after retiring from the army four years ago.
According to police, Fazlul left Manikganj for Dhaka on Saturday afternoon. When his family tried to contact him on Saturday night, his phone was found to be switched off.
Around 11:30 pm on Saturday, locals informed police after finding his body beside the bridge. Fazlul’s hands were tied up and his mouth was gagged.

A murder case has been filed over the incident.
Savar Model police station Inspector and investigating officer Saiful Islam said the body of the deceased was recovered and sent to Dhaka's Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
According to primary investigation, Fazlul was murdered in a different location before the body was dumped off the bridge.
