Jubo League leader held for sexually assaulting woman in Jessore

A local Jubo League leader has been detained for sexually assaulting a woman and then recording the vile act in Jessore.

Imadul Islam, 33, president of Ward No 9 Jubo League under the district’s Baghutia union, was held from his home in Gopinathpur village following a complaint filed by the survivor.

Police also seized the mobile phone used for recording the survivor being stripped naked and also recovered the video clip.

Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, Jamal al Naser, additional SP of Abhaynagar circle, said: “Imadul was detained and then brought to the police station following a complaint filed by the woman. We are investigating the matter.”

According to police sources, the 30-year-old survivor, wife of an expatriate and a mother of one, was having an affair with Imadul while her husband remained abroad.

But lately, she decided not to be with him anymore as her husband found out about the extramarital affair.

On January 6, the survivor was returning home when Imadul blocked her path and forced her to a nearby house and stripped her naked threatening that he would kill her child.

Imadul also video recorded the vile act on his mobile phone and threatened the survivor that he would upload the video on the internet if she did not remain in a relationship with him.
