Two workers electrocuted in Sylhet

At least two workers of Kumargaon Power Substation have been electrocuted and critically injured by an unanticipated power supply while working on the line.

The accident occured on Saturday evening around 4pm when the workers were fixing the transmission line and suddenly the power supply was switched on.

The injured are, Shakil Sarker, and another worker whose identity is still unknown. The former is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Sylhet and in critical condition, said his nephew Akash Miah.

“The transmission line was supposed to be off until the workers finished fixing it. It is a proof of their innate irresponsibility,” said Akash.
