Science and Technology Affairs Minister Yeafesh Osman inaugurated the day by releasing balloons and pigeons
The Nuclear Day was observed at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Ishwardi upazila, Pabna.
Through this project, Bangladesh entered the nuclear world and became the 32nd member of the World Nuclear Club, said Science and Technology Affairs Minister Yeafesh Osman, who inaugurated the program on Monday morning.
To mark the day, Nuclear Power Plant Company Bangladesh Ltd, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC), and the Ministry of Science and Technology jointly organised different day-long programs.
Earlier, on November 30, 2017, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the first concrete casting of the reactor building of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project under construction.

On the occasion, a discussion meeting was held where BAEC Chairman Mahbubul Haque, Project Director Dr Shaukat Akbar, and Project Director of the Rooppur project Sergey Lastochkin, were present.
Minister Yeafesh Osman said: "In the election manifesto of 1970, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman mentioned the implementation of the Rooppur project. His daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is now implementing the project."
Project Director Dr Shaukat Akbar said, "We are stepping into the world of nuclear power."
