The upazila health complex physician, Dr Shahnaz Sultana, said: 'An injury mark was found under the baby’s chest'
A newborn girl has been rescued from a roadside jungle of Pathalia Sukipara village at Dhanbari of Tangail.
Local Union Parishad (UP) member Khalilur Rahman confirmed the matter.
Sources said Muslim devotees were returning home after Fajr prayers early in the morning. They heard the cries of a baby from the jungle. They rushed there, following the sound and found a baby girl there.
At the time, Mamata Begum, a local woman who was walking on the road, reached there and rescued the baby.
Later, she took the newborn to the upazila health complex.
The upazila health complex physician, Dr Shahnaz Sultana, said: “An injury mark was found under the baby’s chest.”
The newborn was sent to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital for better treatment, the physician added.
