Despite the boy's family having fully paid the ransom, Rahat, Foyjul and Mohiuddin killed him
A Bagerhat court on Sunday sentenced three people to life term in prison for killing a three-month-old boy who was abducted over a year ago from Bashirhat village in Bagerhat's Morrelganj upazila.
The convicts were identified as Rahat Hawlader, 21, Mohiuddin Hawlader, 22, and Md Foyjul Islam, 28, all from Gulishkhali village in Morrelganj.
Judge Md Nur-E-Alam of the Women and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal 2 awarded the verdict on Sunday afternoon, confirmed Assistant Public Prosecutor Ranajit Kumar Mondal.
Previously on March 11 of 2019, Abdullah, the son of Reshma Begum and Md Sirajul Islam Shohag, was asleep beside his parents when miscreants abducted him in the early hours, according to the case statement.

They entered by cutting the window grill of the family's house and Reshma's phone was also stolen in the incident.
Later in the morning that day, the kidnappers, using her phone, called a relative of the child and had demanded Tk10 lakh as ransom.
Despite the Abdullah's family having fully paid the ransom, Rahat, Foyjul and Mohiuddin killed him. His body was found at a fish farm's septic tank in Bisharighata village of Morrelganj seven days after the incident.
On October 5, last year, the case Investigation Officer (IO) Sub-Inspector Md Abdul Matin of Morrelganj police station submitted a chargesheet to the Tribunal accusing the three.
The verdict was delivered after the court recorded testimonies of 25 people.
When asked if the family is satisfied with the verdict, the victim's father, Shohag said that he hopes no parent would ever have to suffer the same fate as them.
