Two people have died after being crushed under trains in separate incidents in Sadar and Lalpur upazilas of Natore.
The deceased were identified as Jewel, 30 and Askan Ali, 55.
According to the locals, both of them were suffering from mental illnesses.
Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, Natore Railway Station Master Ashok Chakraborty said that Jewel had committed suicide by jumping under a train in the district’s Amhati area of Sadar upazila at around 2pm on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Askan was killed when he was hit by a train in the Islampur Baora Bridge area of Lalpur upazila at around 10:30am the same day, the station master added.
The bodies of the deceased were later recovered by the Railway Police and sent to Natore Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Two separate cases have been filed with the Santahar Railway police station over the deaths.
