A journalist has reportedly gone missing in Chittagong city since Thursday.
Golam Sarwar, 36, staff reporter of Ajker Syurjodoy, left his work station from the city’s Lusai Bhaban for his rented house at Battery Goli.
The locals saw him going out of his house on Thursday morning. But his mobile phone has remained switched off since then.
Jubayer Siddiqui, assistant editor of Ajker Suurjodoy, filed a missing diary with the city’s Kotwali police station on Thursday.
Nobel Chakma, assistant commissioner (Kotwali zone) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP), said they are investing into the matter.
Meanwhile, Chittagong Union of Journalists (CUJ) expressed grave concern over the disappearance of the journalist.
After holding an emergency meeting on Friday, the organization demanded immediate rescue of the journalist.
Chittagong Metropolitan Union of Journalists (CMUJ) also expressed grave concern over the disappearance of the journalist.
By issuing a media release, the organization urged the law enforcement agencies to take effective steps to rescue the missing journalist.
