The university authorities have also decided to arrange convocation for graduate students amid the current crisis
Rajshahi University authorities have decided to hold admission tests in person despite the threats posed by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The decision was taken at a meeting at the university’s Education Council on Tuesday morning.
Prof Sultan-ul Islam Tipu confirmed the matter, saying that although it has been decided that admission tests will not be held online, the policy-making committee will decide what the examination procedure will be.
Earlier, the authorities of Dhaka University and Chittagong University decided to take the admission tests offline.
Earlier, the University Grants Commission (UGC) decided to use a cluster admission test system for the 2020-2021 academic year, but the top five public universities -- Dhaka University, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet), Jahangirnagar University, Chittagong University, and Rajshahi University -- refused to accept the system.
Considering the threats posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the VCs of the universities said that it would not be suitable to re-open the universities now.
