Enamul escaped when the girl's mother returned home and found him raping her daughter
Police on Saturday evening arrested a man accused in a case filed for reportedly raping his niece in Lalmonirhat Sadar upazila.
The arrested Enamul Haque, 26, took his niece to his room on Sunday and raped her when her parents were not home, according to locals and the victim's family.
Enamul escaped when the girl's mother returned home and found him raping her daughter.
Shahidul Islam, inspector at Lalmonirhat Sadar police station, said: "Enamul was arrested from a tea stall on Saturday evening. The case is under investigation and necessary actions will be taken after that."
Earlier this month on October 9, police arrested another man for reportedly raping his 10th grader niece in Rustompur village of Chandpur's Faridganj upazila.
The accused, Kamrul Islam, 40, from Lakshmipur district first raped the schoolgirl two years ago when he also filmed the incident, reports our Chandpur correspondent, quoting Nurul Islam, sub-inspector of Faridganj police station.
Blackmailing the girl with threats of releasing the video, Kamrul raped her on multiple occasions over the last two years.
On September 20, the DNA test of a teenage mother of Comilla indicated that she was raped by her paternal uncle.
