Thirteen out of 18 passengers of the speedboat were rescued on Thursday
None of the five missing passengers, including a policeman and a bank in-charge, have been rescued so far in the incident of a speedboat sinking in the Agunmukha River in Patuakhali.
The accident took place at 5pm on Thursday in Agunmukha River of Rangabali upazila in the district.

The passengers were not given any life jackets.
The speedboat named Rumen-1 left Koralia for Panpatti with 18 passengers in this inclement weather, ignoring the warning signal No 2 at the river port and warning signal No 3 at the seaport.
The speedboat was then overturned by the waves of Agunmukha River and the passengers fell into the river.

Rangabali Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mashfaqur Rahman said several teams of the administration are working to rescue the missing persons. Fire service divers arrived earlier in the evening and joined the rescue operation.
He further added that the accident took place due to operating of the speedboat in violation of the warning signals. Those who are responsible will not be spared, legal action will be taken against them.
Rangabali police station OC Mohammad Ali Ahmed said the weather had been hostile since Thursday morning. Warning signal 2 was in force at river ports and number 3 in the sea ports.
A case is under process to be filed against the accused for operating the speedboat without life jackets, he added.
