Four others were injured
At least five people were killed in road accidents in Gopalganj, Rangamati, Jamalpur and Cox's Bazar on Friday and Saturday.
In Gopalganj, two people of the same family were killed as a motorbike carrying the duo collided head on with a pickup van.
The accident took place in Pathalia area of Sadar upazila on Friday afternoon.
The deceased were Al Amin Sheikh, 20, son of Lutfor Rahman Sheikh from Nijra village in Gopalganj Sadar and his brother-in-law Abu Sayeed Sheikh, 23, from Dignagar village of Faridpur's Bhanga upazila.
Gopalganj Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Monirul Islam said Al Amin and Abu Sayeed were severely injured after the accident. "Al-Amin was declared dead by the on-duty doctor of Gopalganj General Hospital. Abu Sayeed died undergoing treatment at Gopalganj General Hospital."
In Rangamati, a man was killed and four people were injured when an autorickshaw carrying them collided with a truck in Kawkhali upazila.
The deceased has been identified as Md Kalam Munna, the driver of the autorickshaw.
The incident took place at the Dakbanglo area of Kawkhali upazila around 10am, said Kawkhali police station OC Shahidul Haque.
Dr Shawkat Akbar, resident medical officer (RMO) of Rangamati General Hospital said: "Two among the injured were sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for better treatment and the others are currently undergoing treatment at our hospital."
In Cox's Bazar, a teenager was killed after a battery-run three-wheeler hit him.
The accident occured in the Shukriya Para area of Moheshkhali upazila on Friday around 11:30pm.
The deceased has been identified as Nishad Prince, 16, son of Shah Alam from Maharapara area in Boro Moheshkhali union of the upazila.
Moheshkhali police station OC Ms Abdul Hye confirmed the matter.
In Jamalpur, an elderly man was killed when a tractor ran him over at Shayampur intersection in Melandah upazila on Saturday morning.
The deceased one Tofazzol, 75, was standing by the road in front of his house when the tractor ran him over.
After the accident the driver of the tractor escaped, leaving behind his vehicle, Melandah police station OC Md Rezaul Karim confirmed.
