The accused recorded the whole incident and threatened the girl before letting her go
A man has been arrested for gang-raping a teenager in Nagriakandi area of Narsingdi city.
The arrestee is Rafiqul Islam, 50, a former worker of UMC Jute Mill in Narsingdi and son of Saij Uddin from Bancharampur upazila of Brahmanbaria district.
Police arrested Rafiqul from the city’s new launch terminal as he was trying to flee on Wednesday afternoon.

Narsingdi Model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Biplob Kumar Dutta Chowdhury said on October 7, Rafiqul lured the neighbour’s daughter to his house around 10pm, locked her in a room, and called two other unknown men over the phone.
Later, Rafiqul and three other men gang-raped the girl, recorded the whole incident on video and threatened her before letting her go.
After a week, on Tuesday, the girl filed a case against Rafiqul and the three other men. The girl was sent to Narsingdi General Hospital for medical tests on Wednesday afternoon and Rafiqul was arrested, said the OC.
In primary investigation, Rafiqul confessed to his crimes, he added.
