Mentally challenged woman raped in Narsingdi

A mentally challenged woman, 32, has been raped in Madhabdi of Narsingdi. 

The incident took place on Tuesday at Kabirajpur village of Meherpara union under Madhabdi police station.

The woman underwent a medical examination at Narsingdi sadar hospital on Wednesday. 

The victim's sister-in-law has filed a case against the accused rapist Solaiman, 35, at Madhabadi police station.

The accused rapist Solaiman is the son of late Abdul Qadir of Kabirajpur village under Madhabdi police station and works at a cattle farm in the village.

Yusuf Ahmed, a sub-inspector in charge of the Panchdona police camp, said: “Solaiman called the woman, who was abandoned by her husband, to a room in a corner of a farm and raped her.”

“When the woman’s sister-in-law went to the farm to look for her, the accused Solaiman fled from there.”

Later, a case was filed at Madhabdi police station on the same night. Police rescued the victim and sent her to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for medical examination.
