Locals on Saturday morning informed police when they saw the Indian Khasia man’s body in the river
Body of a man of the Indian Khasia community was handed over to India's Border Security Force (BSF) after police recovered the body from the Dauki River in Jaflong of Sylhet's Gowainghat upazila, on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Beni Shal Kharoan, 45, son of Ekung Lung from Shillong of India.
Locals on Saturday morning informed police when they saw the body in the river. Informed, Gowainghat police Sub-Inspector Atikuzzaman with other policemen, recovered the body and sent it for autopsy.
Gowainghat police station Officer-in-Charge, Md Abdul Ahad, said they handed over the man's body to BSF in cooperation with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
