The DNA samples of two more suspected rapists -- who were arrested in connection to the gang-rape of a woman at Murari Chand (MC) College premises in Sylhet -- were collected for further investigation.
Officials of One Stop Crisis Centre of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital collected samples of Tarek Ahmed and Mahfuzur Rahman Masum around 11: 30am on Saturday, confirmed SI Faruk Ahmed, incharge for the hospital’s police outpost.
Previously on Thursday, the DNA samples of the six suspects of the rape were collected.
The six were: key suspect Saifur Rahman, Arjun Laskar, Rabiul Islam, Shah Mahbubur Rahman Rony, Rajon and Ainuddin.

All of the accused are Bangladesh Chhatra League activists.
On September 25, several perpetrators accosted a couple when the husband parked their car at MC college premises and got out from the vehicle in order to buy cigarettes, according to the case statement.
The aggressors initially began sexually harassing the woman and when the husband protested, the assailants dragged him into the college’s hostel. Afterwards, they raped the woman inside the car, while her husband was bound inside the hostel, the case details further mentions.

The following day, the victim’s husband started a case with Shah Poran police against nine people.
Later police raided the hostel and seized a gun, four machetes, a knife and two makeshift arms from Saifur’s room, said Shah Poran Police OC Abdul Kaiyum Chowdhury.
Among the accused in the case, Rony, Mahfuzur Rahman Masum and Arjun are master’s students at the Department of English.
Apart from them, Robiul and Tarek Ahmed were Chhatra League activists from outside the college.
