The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed three cases against a total of 14 employees and contractors, including the former chairman of Rajshahi Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Professor Abul Kalam Azad and its former secretary Md Anarul Haque on allegations of embezzlement.
The cases were filed on charges of embezzling almost Tk18 lakh from the board’s development fund by neglecting the need for repairs, renovations, and construction work on various installations of the board.
Al-Amin, assistant director of the ACC’s Rajshahi integrated district office, filed the cases on Wednesday, confirmed Jahangir Alam, deputy director, ACC, Rajshahi integrated district office.
He said the cases were filed as sufficient evidence was found in regards to the allegations that merit a further investigation.
The other accused in the case include Selina Parveen, Golam Sarwar, Shawkat Ali, Israfil Hossain and Nesar Uddin Ahmed, among others.
