A seven years old girl has reportedly been raped by an 11 years old boy in Saghata upazila of Gaibandha.
The accused boy was sent to Gaibandha juvenile correction centre on the order of the local judicial magistrate on Thursday, reports Bangla Tribune.
The girl is currently undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
The boy was a neighbour of the girl. On Saturday, he took her to an isolated spot in the house and raped her there, said Saghata police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Belal Hossain, quoting the case filed by the girl's father.
Hearing the girl scream, locals rushed there and the boy fled. Later, police arrested the boy from his home, the OC added.
Meanwhile, the accused boy's father, Khademul Islam, said his son was falsely accused in a rape case by the girl's family due to previous enimity. Khademul demands a proper investigation of the matter.
