They had been living in a rented house, owned by Tajul Islam, in Kumradi village since their marriage.

A quarrel broke out between Badol Mia and his wife around 4:30am on Sunday over a family matter. At one stage, becoming enraged, Badol started hacking at his wife, injuring both Nazma and her son from her previous marriage in the process.

Upon hearing the commotion, house owner Tajul Islam, his wife Monowara Begum, and daughter Kulsum Begum rushed in to help Nazma and her son. However, they too were subsequently attacked and injured by Badol.

Locals rescued the injured and took them to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital, where on-duty doctors declared Nazma Begum and Monowara Begum dead. Tajul Islam died on the way to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
