Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Tuesday seized 120,000 pieces of yaba pills worth approximately Tk3.6 crore from near the Naf River in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar.

On a routine patrol, a team of BGB 2 noticed a boat coming in from the Myanmar border trying to anchor near the Kewra forest along the Naf River around 8:45pm, said a press release of BGB issued on Wednesday.

When the BGB team challenged the suspected smugglers on-board the boat, they fled the scene leaving behind the contraband drugs.

Later, BGB seized the yaba kept in two sacks from the boat.

However, BGB could not detain anyone as the smugglers managed to flee the scene.
