Coast Guards’ ships BCGS Mansur Ali, BCGS Sonar Bangla, HPB Buriganga, and HPB Shitalaksha participated in the exercise
Bangladesh Coast Guards has successfully concluded a special exercise on ensuring the security of Payra ports and important establishments surrounding the ports.
The two-day long exercise concluded on Friday. It was inaugurated by the Director General of the force Rear Admiral M Ashraful Haq on Thursday.
Coast Guards’ ships BCGS Mansur Ali, BCGS Sonar Bangla, HPB Buriganga, and HPB Shitalaksha participated in the exercise.
The special exercise showcased the activities of the Coast Guards in ensuring the safety of ships at Payra Port as well as critical installations such as thermal power plants, service jetties, and other under construction projects.
Apart from ensuring the security of the port, the Coast Guards is going to continue its ongoing operations in the coastal areas to prevent illegal smuggling, piracy, illegal fishing, protection of forest resources, and trafficking of women and children.
Several top officials of Coast Guards and Payra Port Chairman Commodore Humayun Kollol, were also present at the exercise.
