Three men, who were named witnesses in a case tied to the murder of major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan, have been produced before a Cox’s Bazar court to record their confessional statements.

A team of RAB 15 produced the trio — Nurul Amin, Nizam Uddin and Md Ayas — before Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah Wednesday morning, a day after the same court put the trio on a three-day remand.

They were named by police as witnesses in the narcotics case filed by police against Sinha and his colleagues Shipra Rani Devnath and Shahedul Islam Sifat, following the murder on the night of July 31.

They have also been accused in a case filed by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), who is now investigating the incident, in connection with Sinha's murder.

Previously on August 20 and on August 25, the court of senior judicial magistrate Tamannah Farah granted a seven-day and a four-day remand respectively for the trio.

On July 31, retired army officer Sinha was shot dead by Liakat at the Shamlapur police check post on Marine Drive in Teknaf's Baharchhara.

Sinha was on his way back to Nilima Resort in Himchori after filming a video on Marishbunia hill in Teknaf.

On August 5, Sinha's older sister Sharmin Shahriar filed a case with the Judicial Magistrate Court in connection with the murder where 15 people were named as accused.
