Pradeep, one of the main accused in the Major (rtd) Sinha murder case, was brought to the court at around 2:30pm
A Cox’s Bazar court on Monday put suspended Teknaf police station OC Pradeep Kumar Das on a one-day fresh remand for the fourth time in the retired Army Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan murder case.
The court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah passed the order in response to a one-day remand prayer filed by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
Mohammad Khairul Islam, RAB-15 senior assistant superintendent of police and the investigation officer of the case, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
A panel of lawyers, led by Ahsanul Haque Hena, filed a petition for bail of accused Pradeep, but the court rejected this petition after Pradeep, one of the main accused, was brought to the court at around 2:30pm.
Sinha, 36, who took early retirement from the Bangladesh Army in November 2018, was shot dead at a police check point on Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive at Shamlapur under Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar on July 31.
