He had been drinking for the last four days straight
A Russian working in Rooppur nuclear power plant (RNPP) project has died reportedly after drinking excessive alcohol.
The deceased, Sergei Smolnikov, 43, breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the CDM Hospital in Rajshahi around 6 pm Thursday.
CDM Hospital Director Dr Twaki Chowdhury said: "He was brought from Ishwardi and was admitted to the hospital around 5:15pm.”
His physical condition deteriorated further right after he was brought to the hospital, he added.
Those who came with Sergei to the hospital told the physician that Sergei had been drinking for the last four days straight. He did not eat any other food during the time, said Dr Twaki.
The body was been sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue, he added.
