A member of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) has made a confessional statement in the Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan murder case.
The statement was recorded on Wednesday in the private room of Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate (Teknaf-3) Tamanna Farah.
A team of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) led by the investigating officer of the case brought the APBn member to the court at 4:30pm.
The statement was recorded over three and a half hours, after which the APBn man was taken to the district jail at 8:15pm.
No one has spoken to the media in this regard. However, a source at the court said APBn member Abdullah was the one who had made the confessional statement.
Earlier on August 17, a RAB team took three persons into custody for questioning. They were shown arrested at 12.30pm on August 18 and produced in court.

They were taken into RAB custody on August 22.
The other two persons are APBn Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Shahjahan and Constable Rajib.
All three were on duty at Shamlapur Police Investigation Centre on the night of July 31.
