The three suspects were made prime witnesses in two cases filed against Sinha’s crew members Shipra and Sifat
A Cox’s Bazar court has granted investigators four days to grill three suspects over the murder case of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Tamanna Farah passed the order on Tuesday when the case Investigation Officer ASP Khairul Islam of RAB 15 moved the court for a 7-day remand.
The three suspects Md Nurul Amin, Md Nezamuddina, and Md Ayaj, were made prime witnesses in two cases which were filed against Shipra Debnath and Shahedul Islam Sifat, who were arrested following Sinha’s death.
Earlier, these three suspects along with four accused policemen were taken into RAB custody for a 7-day interrogation in connection to the murder case.
Meanwhile, RAB has once again taken into custody the three top accused—Pradeep, Liaqat, and Nandadulal—for further interrogation, after the same court had granted four days for their interrogation along with four other accused policemen on Monday.
The four other accused policemen have been sent to jail and will be taken into custody for remand later.
Major (retd.) Sinha was shot dead at Shamlapur check post on the night of July 31 on his way back to Nilima Resort in the Himchhari area of Cox's Bazar on Marine Drive after filming a video on Marishbunia hill in Teknaf.
Following the incident, nine policemen were named accused in the murder case filed by Sinha's sister Sharmin Shahriar.
