Sujon expressed his displeasure over the conservancy officials after coming across the piles of waste in Kapashgola and Chawkbazar areas of the city
The newly appointed administrator of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC), Khorshed Alam Sujon on Tuesday said that no anomaly would be tolerated for the development of the port city.
He said this while visiting different waterlogged areas of the city induced by rainfall.
“Many government agencies like CDA, WASA, RHD and PDB are working in the city. We have found that the city dwellers have to face unbearable waterlogging and traffic congestion only due to lack of coordination among the service-providing agencies. There should be proper planning for the development projects in the city,” said Sujon.
During the visit, the CCC administrator also found that some slabs were illegally placed in some areas obstructing the free flow of water.
Sujon expressed his displeasure over the conservancy officials after coming across the piles of waste in Kapashgola and Chawkbazar areas of the city.
The CCC administrator requested the city residents now to dump garbage in the canals and drains which causes waterlogging.
Sujon also directed the engineers to quickly repair the potholes and puddles on the roads created by the rainfall.
Personal secretary to the CCC administrator Abul Hashem, Chief Conservancy Officer Shafiqul Mannan Siddiqui, Deputy Chief Conservancy Officer Morshedul Alam Chowdhury, Superintendent Engineers Kamrul Islam and Farhadul Alam accompanied the administrator during the visit.
