The intern doctors at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) went on an indefinite strike on Thursday night protesting against assault on their fellows
The intern doctors of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) postponed strike on Saturday morning as the authorities assured them of fulfilling their demands.
Dr Md Habibur Rahman, joint secretary of CMCH Intern Doctors’ Association told Dhaka Tribune they decided to postpone strike as the authorities agreed to punish the attackers.
“We will resume our strike if necessary legal and academic actions are not taken against the attackers by 1am on Monday,” Dr Rahman added.

On Friday the intern doctors went for work abstention programme demanding punitive action against the culprits after a group of students identifying themselves as Chhatra League activists launched an attack on them.
Convener of the association Dr Osman Gani and Literary Secretary of CMC Chhatra Sangshad Sunny Hasnain received grievous injuries during the attack.
