Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) officials have arrested six men who reportedly tried to bribe them to release four alleged criminals from their custody in Comilla.
The arrestee, Borhan Mahmud Kamrul, 47, a self proclaimed Jubo League leader along with other accused, Md Jahirul Haque, 64, Iftekharul Kabir, 18, Foyez Ahmed, 40, Niyamul Haque, 30 and Amjad Hossain, 36, came to the RAB-11 office and offered Tk2,00,000 bribe requesting them to release four of their wellwishers in return.
After the incident on Monday, the RAB officials arrested and lodged two separate cases against them, RAB sources said.
On the same day, a patrol team of RAB made a drive to LR Apex Tower of Digambaritola and detained four alleged drug dealers with contraband drug yaba and alcohol.
Confirming the incident, Major Talukdar Nazmus Shakib, company commander of RAB-11 said: “The syndicate has long been involved in the drug trading business and finally we arrested them.”
