Two minors including an 11-year-old boy were reportedly raped in Lakshmipur and Dinajpur.
In Lakshmipur, a six-year-old girl was reportedly raped in the Charmansha area of Lakshmipur Sadar upazila on Monday afternoon.
A local youth took the child to his room when she was passing by his house and raped her, according to the girl's mother.
Locals said they rushed to the spot as the girl screamed during the incident but the rapist managed to flee.
The girl was severely wounded from the incident and was taken to Lakshmipur District Hospital for treatment.
Dr Anwar Hossain of the hospital said we are primarily suspecting that a rape attempt was made.
Lakshmipur Sadar police station officer-in-charge (OC) Azizur Rahman said we have been trying to arrest the culprit involved.
In Dinajpur, a case has been filed on Monday under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act for allegedly raping a 11-year-old boy in Boalmari area in Nawabganj upazila.
Uttam Kumar Saha, the headmaster of Boalmari Shibpur Government Primary School was accused of raping a fifth grade student of his school on July 27.
According to the case statement, Uttam called the student into his school saying that he will provide a scholarship of Tk1,000 to him on the day of the incident. When the boy went to collect the scholarship, Uttam took the boy to a nearby field and raped him.
The boy got back to his home that day and informed his family of the matter. He later received treatment at the upazila hospital and his parents couldn't immediately take legal actions as they were being pressured by the accused, the case details further mentioned.
Uttam denied the allegations against him and said the boy is also his neighbour. He claimed that some of his enemies saw him when he was taking the boy to catch some fish and they are trying to frame him.
Confirming that a case has been filed, Nawabganj police station OC Ashok Kumar Chouhan said drives are being conducted to arrest the accused.
